As we are a Belgium-based platform ourselves, we always do keep an eye out for Belgian talent as well. ARtroniks is one of those few producers/DJs who are able to make something happen in Belgium. We recently signed this 23-years-old Belgian as we also have him on the line-up for our next few events, so this is a proper moment to introduce you to ARtroniks, as he delivers a fresh podcast full of new dubs from himself!

Hey Arne, hope all is well.  Last year you had your debut on GetDarker which got over 15.000 views. How did that come through exactly?

All is well, thanks for having me! Having watched the GetDarker livestreams for quite some years, I always wanted to play there. When Crises hit me up about playing at GetDarker as promo for my Dissonance EP on MindStep Music, I was stoked. That was already a year ago. Shouts to Darkside & the rest of the team for running a qualilty magazine, label & livestream.

Apart from your GetDarker appearance, you are also a resident at the well-respected SUB FM, right?

Indeed, I got the opportunity to play on the station. I played on Dusk FM in the past and already had some guest mixes on BunZer0’s & Syte’s show on SUB FM, so playing there felt natural. I now have a fortnightly show on Saturday. SUB FM pushes all sorts of bass music, so I’m glad I can share my style.

We recently had – for the first time in many years – a DEEP MEDi takeover in Belgium, how you expect the scene in Belgian to develop?

The DEEP MEDi labelnight in Brussels was alive. It shows that there is still a huge interest in these events. I hope that more promoters take notice. In the past years, such events have been on the low. The days of going to a big dubstep night every week are over. But everything goes in circles so I’m not worried about that. “Rotation” in Ghent has always been consistent and is still putting up nights on the regular. Also “De Jeugzonde” has a few events each year showcasing the deeper side of dubstep and respecting the sound system culture. The movement will live on.

Ah we definitely do share that mentality, as we’re stoked ourselves to see some more proper events in Belgium. Though what’s to come for releases from yourself? Any forthcoming releases you can announce already?

My remix of Noclu’s “March Of The Elephunks” just came out on Hatched, the label by DJ Hatcha. “Trossen” is coming out on Averted Vision July 13th and I’ve got several releases lined up. A 4-track EP is coming out on Biscuit Factory Records real soon. “Illusion” and “Phasewalk” will be released on DUPLOC. Also my new track “Seeds Of Conflict” will be part of the “Best of DUPLOC Album 2015“. Some other tracks and EPs are prepared and will see daylight the next months. More info about those soon, but you can preview some of these dubs in my podcast already!

Which producers we should keep an eye out for? Maybe any producers from our region in particular?

Well there are so many really, but some producers from the “Low Lands” which you should keep an eye on would be BunZer0, Digid, Dubbacle, Hebbe, Nigia, P.Haywire, Subreachers, The Illuminated and VGB to name a few. I can go on and on because fresh talents are constantly popping up. I can’t wait to hear and  feel more bassweight!
